Zion Canyoneering
Zion National Park, Utah National Parks
About This Activity
Explore a beautiful desert Southwest slot canyon in the shadow of Zion National Park. Experience rappels, down-climbs, and boulder hopping inside stunning sandstone corridors. All technical canyoneering in Zion requires a wilderness permit from the NPS. Most visitors book with a licensed outfitter who provides gear and guides. Popular routes include Keyhole Canyon (beginner, 2 hours), Pine Creek (intermediate), and Mystery Canyon (advanced, full day). Best season: late spring through fall when water levels are manageable.
