Plaza de Mayo & Casa Rosada
Buenos Aires, Argentina
About This Activity
Plaza de Mayo is the historic center of Buenos Aires, framed by the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Cabildo (colonial town hall), and the world-famous Casa Rosada — the seat of Argentine executive power since the 1860s. Interior palace tours are currently suspended, but the adjacent Casa Rosada Museum (free, Wed–Sun 11am–6pm) offers rich exhibits on Argentine history. The square itself has witnessed every major political event in the nation's history and remains a living monument.
Seasonal note: Pleasant year-round; spring and fall are most comfortable for outdoor exploration
