Recoleta Cemetery is a labyrinthine city of 4,700 ornate marble mausoleums, housing presidents, generals, and cultural icons. The tomb of Eva Perón (Evita) is always adorned with fresh flowers and remains the most visited site. Established in 1822, the craftsmanship spans Art Nouveau to neo-Gothic. Admission for foreign visitors is approximately $15 USD (card only at entrance); free Spanish-language guided tours run Tue–Fri at 11am and 2pm, Sat–Sun at 11am and 3pm; English tours available Mon–Sat at 3:30pm (~$10 USD).
