About This Activity

The Tigre Delta is a labyrinth of river islands, willow trees, and wooden stilt-houses just one hour north of Buenos Aires by Mitre commuter train (~$1–2 each way). From Tigre port, public boat tours cruise the channels for $8–15; private excursions run $50–150. Budget $25–40 total for a self-guided day including lunch at a waterfront café. The Museo de Arte de Tigre near the port is a beautiful Beaux-Arts building worth visiting before or after the water. Kayak rentals also available.

Seasonal note: Spring and fall ideal; heavy rains in March–April can cause minor flooding in the delta
