About This Activity
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the highest-altitude zoo in the US at 6,800 feet, built into the mountainside with stunning views of Colorado Springs below. The zoo is especially known for its giraffe feeding experience — one of the largest giraffe herds in captivity — and its mountain setting that makes even a simple walk between exhibits scenic. Other highlights include the Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit, Encounter Africa, and the Mountaineer Sky Ride chairlift to the Will Rogers Shrine. Open daily year-round 9 AM - 5 PM. Timed tickets required; peak-season adult admission ~$35. The Electric Safari holiday lights event (Nov-Jan) is a local favorite.
