About This Activity

Garden of the Gods is a free public park (guaranteed free forever by the original 1909 deed) featuring dramatic 300-million-year-old red sandstone formations set against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. Choose from 15 miles of trails through diverse terrain where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountain foothills. Iconic formations like Balanced Rock, Kissing Camels, and Cathedral Spires make for spectacular photos. The free Visitor & Nature Center offers exhibits on geology, ecology, and local history. The park is open year-round from 5 AM to 9 PM (summer) or 5 AM to 7 PM (winter). No reservations needed. Parking is free but lots fill early on summer weekends — arrive before 9 AM.
