About This Activity

The Boboli Gardens behind the Pitti Palace are 45,000 square meters of Renaissance landscaping — grottoes with artificial stalactites, a Neptune fountain, an amphitheatre, and shaded cypress avenues leading to panoramic city views. Children love the Buontalenti Grotto (with its fake cave creatures), the Isolotto island garden, and running the wide pathways between sculpted hedges. Entry is €10 (free for under-18s from the EU). Allow 2 hours. Combine with the adjacent Bardini Garden for extra green space.

Seasonal note: Best spring and autumn; limited shade in summer; closed first and last Monday of each month
