Florentine Leather Workshop — Make Your Own Piece, Oltrarno
Florence, Italy
About This Activity
Florence has been Italy's leather capital since the Medici era — the Oltrarno quarter still houses workshops using centuries-old vegetable tanning and hand-stitching techniques. In a 2–3 hour session, a master craftsman guides you through cutting, tooling, and stitching to create a finished piece — coin purse, card holder, or journal cover — using natural dyes and traditional tools. Sessions are capped at 6 people and taught in English. Prices typically €80–95 per person; the finished piece goes home with you.
Seasonal note: Year-round indoor activity; Florence leather workshops are a particularly rich experience in cooler months when the Oltrarno is less crowded
