Bou Inania Madrasa
Fes, Morocco
About This Activity
The Bou Inania Madrasa, built between 1351 and 1357, is the only madrasa in Morocco that also functioned as a congregational mosque. Its courtyard is a showcase of Marinid craftsmanship: zellige tilework in geometric patterns, carved plaster arabesques, and a murmuring marble fountain. On the exterior, look for the remains of a remarkable 14th-century water clock with 13 brass bowls and carved wooden windows. Open daily 9am-7pm.
Seasonal note: Year-round; open daily 9am-7pm
