Fes Medina Hammam Experience
Fes, Morocco
About This Activity
Fes is home to more than a hundred neighbourhood hammams that have operated continuously for centuries. Hammam Sidi Azouz near Bab Boujeloud is one of the few traditional hammams welcoming first-time visitors. A domed brick chamber where attendants lead you through progressively hotter steam rooms, then scrub you down with a kessa glove and fragrant black beldi soap made from fermented olives. A cold rinse with argan-infused water finishes the ritual. At 350-500 MAD for a full scrub and massage package, it is far cheaper than the tourist hammams of Marrakech and far more atmospheric.
Seasonal note: Year-round indoor
