About This Activity

Jagalchi is Korea's largest seafood market — a 24/7 wet-market where haenyeo (female divers) have traded fresh catch for generations. The ground floor displays live tanks of flounder, octopus, sea cucumber, and shellfish; vendors will relay your pick to the restaurant floor upstairs where it's sliced as hoe (Korean sashimi) with sesame oil and soju. Budget ₩20,000–35,000 per person for a seafood plate plus ₩5,000 service setup fee; verify the total price before seating. Typically closed the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Arrive before 10am for the best atmosphere. Floors are wet and slippery — wear non-slip soles.

Seasonal note: Year-round; closed 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Best seafood variety in autumn–winter. Morning visits (before 10am) offer the most active wholesale atmosphere.
