Mercado de San Miguel Food Tour
Madrid, Spain
About This Activity
The Mercado de San Miguel is Madrid's most beautiful market, a 1916 cast-iron pavilion steps from Plaza Mayor now housing over 30 gourmet stalls. Sample Iberian ham carved tableside, fresh oysters, Galician octopus, croquetas, and creative pintxos washed down with Spanish vermut or cava. It's a tapas grazing experience rather than a grocery market — budget around €20 per person. Arrive before noon or after 4 PM to avoid peak tourist crowds. Open daily including Sundays.
Seasonal note: Year-round, open daily. Busiest at lunchtime and summer evenings. Early morning is quieter and fresher.
