Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
Bangkok, Thailand
About This Activity
The Grand Palace complex has been the official residence of Thai kings since 1782. At its heart sits Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha carved from a single block of jade. The grounds dazzle with gilded spires, intricate mosaic-covered walls, and classical Thai architecture. Dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) or rent wraps at the entrance for 200 THB. The 500 THB ticket also includes the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. Arrive by 8:30am opening time to beat tour groups and the midday heat; the complex closes at 3:30pm.
Seasonal note: Open year-round; cooler months Nov–Feb are more comfortable for outdoor walking
