About This Activity

Wat Arun stands on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, its 79-meter central prang adorned with colorful porcelain fragments that shimmer brilliantly in the sun. Cross by ferry from Tha Tien pier (5 THB) and climb the steep central tower for sweeping views across Bangkok and the river. Admission is 200 THB; open daily 8:30am–5:30pm. Visit in the late afternoon when the golden light catches the porcelain mosaic perfectly, then enjoy the iconic view of the illuminated temple from Wat Pho pier after dark.

Seasonal note: Open year-round; late afternoon light makes the porcelain mosaic glow at its best
