About This Activity

Old Phuket Town is a beautifully preserved Sino-Portuguese neighborhood that developed during the 19th-century tin mining boom. Its narrow streets are lined with pastel-painted colonial shophouses, many now housing indie cafes, vintage shops, and art galleries. Thalang Road and Soi Rommanee are the most photogenic streets, with colorful street art throughout. Every Sunday from 4–10pm, Thalang Road closes to traffic for the Lard Yai Sunday Walking Street market — one of Thailand's best night markets with local food and crafts. Free to explore anytime.

Seasonal note: Open year-round; Sunday evening (Lard Yai market 4–10pm) is the most atmospheric time to visit
