Pigeon Valley Walk
Capitol Reef, Turkey
About This Activity
Pigeon Valley (Güvercinlik Vadisi) stretches between Göreme and Uçhisar, named for the thousands of pigeon houses carved into the rock faces by local farmers who used the guano as fertilizer. The easy 4km trail passes through spectacular fairy chimney formations, including the famous Evil Eye tree hung with blue glass nazar amulets. The valley is especially photogenic in the late afternoon light. Combine with Uçhisar Castle for a half-day outing.
Seasonal note: Best Apr-Jun and Sep-Oct
