About This Activity

Rose Valley (Güllüdere) is named for the pink and orange hues of its volcanic rock formations, which glow at sunset. The 4km trail winds through narrow gorges, past pigeon houses carved into cliff faces, and through rock-cut churches with faded frescoes. The route connects Göreme to Çavuşin village and can be walked in either direction. Late afternoon is ideal for the warm light that brings the rose-colored rocks to life. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes.

Seasonal note: Best Apr-Jun and Sep-Oct; too hot in mid-summer
