About This Activity

Bui Vien Street in District 1 is Ho Chi Minh City's legendary backpacker and nightlife strip, closed to traffic on Friday–Sunday evenings. Neon-lit bars serve beer towers, live bands play rooftop stages, and street carts sell banh trang nuong (rice paper pizza). Most bars charge no entry; beers run $1–3. Best experienced 8pm–midnight. Loud, chaotic, and entirely Saigon in character — not for everyone, but a quintessential night out. The pedestrian zone activates Fri–Sun; weeknight visits are lower-key.

Seasonal note: Year-round. Pedestrian zone (Fri–Sun evenings only) is the best experience. Wet season evening showers (May–Oct) are short but heavy.
