Saigon Pho & Vietnamese Coffee Morning
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
About This Activity
Saigon's morning ritual begins before 7am at a local pho shop: southern pho bo (beef pho) has a sweeter, richer broth than Hanoi's version, loaded with bean sprouts, fresh basil, and lime. Follow with ca phe sua da — Vietnamese iced coffee dripped through a phin filter over condensed milk and ice. For something more distinctive, seek a ca phe trung (egg coffee) shop for the Saigon variant — whipped egg yolk cream over strong espresso. The full experience costs under $3. Find it on Vo Thi Sau Street, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, or any neighbourhood lane in Districts 1 or 3.
Seasonal note: Year-round morning experience; best before 8am when local pho stalls are freshest.
