About This Activity

An Bang Beach is a 3km stretch of pale sand 5km north of Hội An Ancient Town, consistently ranked among Asia's best beaches. Unlike Da Nang's crowded My Khe stretch, An Bang retains a village feel — bamboo sunbeds, no resort towers, and beach shacks selling fresh coconuts and cold Bia Hoi. The South China Sea is warmest and calmest October–April; swimming is excellent. Reach it by bicycle (40 min from town) or Grab bike (~$2). Beachside restaurants grill fresh seafood for $5–10. Backed by rice fields and local homes — a genuinely laid-back contrast to the busy Ancient Town.

Seasonal note: Best Feb–Aug. Oct–Nov typhoon season brings rough seas and strong rip currents; swimming not recommended. Coldest and rainiest months are Nov–Jan.
