About This Activity

The Japanese Covered Bridge (Chùa Cầu) was built in the early 17th century by Hội An's Japanese community to link their quarter with the Chinese district across a small creek. The ornate wooden bridge houses a small Taoist shrine in its mid-section and is guarded by carved stone dogs and monkeys at each end. Its curved tile roof and interlocking woodwork make it photogenic from every angle — it features on Vietnam's 20,000 VND banknote. Entry via the combined Ancient Town ticket (120,000 VND / ~$4.70). Arrive before 8am to photograph without crowds.

Seasonal note: Year-round; flooding in the Ancient Town can occur Oct–Nov during typhoon season.
