My Son Sanctuary — Cham Ruins Half-Day Trip
Hoi An, Vietnam
About This Activity
My Son (Mỹ Sơn) is a cluster of 70+ Cham Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries, 40km from Hội An in a sheltered jungle valley. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was the Champa Kingdom's religious capital for nearly 1,000 years. The brick kalan towers dedicated to Shiva survive American bombing and French excavation — some intact, some hauntingly ruined. Entry is 150,000 VND (~$5.85) for foreign adults (includes a 2-way electric car transfer from the gate); a daily Apsara dance show is included at no extra cost. Guided tours from Hội An run ~$20–30 total with transport. Depart by 7am to beat midday heat.
Seasonal note: Best Feb–Aug (dry weather). Typhoon season (Sep–Nov) may cause temporary closures. Summer (Jul–Aug) is very hot; depart by 7am.
