About This Activity

Hội An Ancient Town is Vietnam's finest preserved trading port — a UNESCO World Heritage Site where 15th–19th century Japanese, Chinese, and European merchant architecture stands intact. At dusk, motor traffic is banned, silk lanterns in red and gold illuminate every lane, and the Thu Bon riverfront glows with floating candle boats. Guided evening tours visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Fujian and Cantonese assembly halls, and narrow tube houses. The combined entrance ticket (120,000 VND / ~$4.70 for foreigners) covers 5 of 22 listed attractions and is valid 24 hours. On the 14th of each lunar month, the Full Moon Festival bans electric lights entirely.

Seasonal note: Best Feb–Aug (dry season for central Vietnam). Typhoon season Sep–Nov can bring flooding to the Ancient Town. Full Moon Festival (14th of each lunar month) is the most magical time.
