Rialto Fish Market & Bridge, Venice
Venice, Italy
About This Activity
The Rialto Market has been Venice's commercial heart since the 12th century. The fish market (Pescheria) operates Tuesday–Saturday 7:30am–noon and showcases Adriatic catches — scallops, razor clams, sole, and spider crabs — laid on marble slabs under a neo-Gothic portico. The adjacent produce market (Erberia) runs Mon–Sat until 1:30pm. Cross the white Istrian stone Rialto Bridge (built 1591) for the best views of Grand Canal water traffic. Entry to the market is free; arrive before 9am for the full spectacle before crowds and stall holders begin packing up.
Seasonal note: Fish market Tue–Sat mornings; best before 9am for freshest catch and fewest tourists
