Venetian Cicchetti & Bacaro Gluten-Free Tasting, Venice
Venice, Italy
About This Activity
Venetian cicchetti (small bar snacks) are traditionally served on crostini, but many items are naturally gluten-free: baccalà mantecato (creamed salt cod), polpette di carne (meatballs), sarde in saor (sweet-and-sour sardines), and grilled scallops can all be ordered without bread. The bacari (traditional wine bars) around the Rialto market — including All'Arco, Do Spade, and Cantina Do Mori — are accustomed to GF requests. A self-guided cicchetti crawl across 3–4 bacari costs €15–25 per person including a glass of Veneto Soave or Prosecco at each stop.
Seasonal note: Year-round; bacari most lively late morning and early evening
