Venice Art Galleries — Accademia, Correr & Peggy Guggenheim
Venice, Italy
About This Activity
Venice's three main galleries cover distinct eras without overlap. The Gallerie dell'Accademia (€12) holds the world's definitive collection of Venetian painting from Bellini to Titian to Tintoretto, displayed in a former scuola. The Correr Museum (€20, includes Doge's Palace) traces Venetian civic history with maps, coins, and ceremonial objects. The Peggy Guggenheim Collection (€18) on the Grand Canal displays Pollock, Dali, Ernst, and Rothko in Guggenheim's former home — one of Europe's best modern art museums.
* Correr Museum * Accademia Gallery of Venice * Peggy Guggenheim Collection
Seasonal note: Year-round indoor; Guggenheim closed Tuesdays; Accademia closed Mondays — do not combine both on a Tuesday or Monday
