Venice Neighborhood Walk — Getting Deliberately Lost
Venice, Italy
About This Activity
Venice's greatest pleasure is purposeful wandering. Away from the San Marco-Rialto corridor, the Castello, Cannaregio, and Dorsoduro sestieri have residential streets, neighborhood bars (bacari), and small craftsmen still making glass, paper, and masks. Cross every bridge you see, follow water sounds, and stop at any bacaro (wine bar) for a glass of Prosecco and cicchetti (small bites). Venice is only 4 km long — you cannot truly get lost for long. Budget 3 hours.
Seasonal note: Avoid peak summer midday heat; early morning before 9 AM is magical
