Free Day in Queenstown
Queenstown, New Zealand
About This Activity
Queenstown always has more to offer than any itinerary can fit. Take the Skyline Gondola (10 minutes from the centre) for the best views in town and try the luge ride at the top. Board the TSS Earnslaw — a beautiful 1912 coal-fired steamship that cruises Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm (sheep shearing, horse trekking, farm tour). The lakefront beach below town is free and lovely on a warm afternoon. Wander the night market (Thursday evenings) or browse the shops on the pedestrianised Mall. Or simply do nothing — the view of the Remarkables from a lakeside bench is one of the world's finest landscapes.
