Erawan Museum
Bangkok, Thailand
About This Activity
The Erawan Museum is one of Bangkok's most visually striking attractions — a 29-meter-tall bronze three-headed elephant (Erawan) standing atop a building housing an extraordinary collection of Thai antiques, porcelain, and religious art. The interior of the elephant's belly is designed as a stained-glass universe representing the three realms of Buddhist cosmology. Surrounding gardens contain Thai pavilions and spirit houses. Located in Samut Prakan about 30km south of central Bangkok, it requires a BTS Skytrain and taxi combination. Admission is 400 THB for foreigners.
Seasonal note: Open year-round; a good hot-season option as the interior is air-conditioned
