Jim Thompson House Museum
Bangkok, Thailand
About This Activity
The Jim Thompson House is Bangkok's most atmospheric museum, comprising six traditional Thai teak houses reassembled along a khlong by American businessman Jim Thompson, who revived the Thai silk industry after WWII. Thompson mysteriously disappeared in Malaysia in 1967, and his home became a museum filled with an extraordinary collection of Asian antiques, art, and silk furnishings. Guided tours run every 20 minutes and are included in the 250 THB ticket price (children 10–21: 150 THB; under 10 free). Tickets are sold only at the door. Open daily 10am–5pm.
Seasonal note: Open year-round; a good wet-season option as most of the visit is outdoors under cover
