Dead Sea Day Trip
Amman, Jordan
About This Activity
The Dead Sea — the lowest point on Earth at 430m below sea level — is one of the world's most extraordinary natural experiences. The water is so dense with salt (34%) that you float effortlessly on the surface, unable to sink. Smearing the rich mineral mud on your skin and then washing it off in the briny water leaves skin surprisingly soft. From Amman, the Dead Sea is about 55km west (under one hour by car or bus). The Jordanian shore has several resort hotels and public beaches (the public Amman Beach resort is the most accessible for day visitors). Budget for entrance, locker hire, and towels.
