Jordan Museum
Amman, Jordan
About This Activity
The Jordan Museum in Amman is the country's premier archaeological and cultural museum, opened in 2014. It houses one of the most important collections in the Middle East, including fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the extraordinary Ain Ghazal plaster statues (dating to 7250 BCE — among the oldest human statues ever discovered), and a comprehensive collection tracing Jordan's history from prehistoric times to the present. The museum's exhibits are presented with state-of-the-art displays and bilingual (Arabic/English) interpretation. Entry is very affordable and guided tours are available in English.
