About This Activity

Changdeokgung (Palace of Prospering Virtue) is Seoul's best-preserved Joseon royal palace and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace ticket (₩3,000) grants access to the main grounds; the Huwon Secret Garden — a 78-acre landscape of ponds, pavilions, and centuries-old trees hidden behind the palace — requires a separate guided tour ticket (₩5,000–₩8,000 for adults, limited to 100 visitors per session). English-language garden tours run Tuesday–Sunday several times daily; advance online booking is highly recommended for the most popular time slots. October autumn foliage is the peak season for the garden.

Seasonal note: Open year-round (closed Mondays). Secret Garden is most spectacular in October when autumn foliage peaks; spring (April–May) brings cherry blossoms and cultural events.
