About This Activity

The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a neofuturist cultural complex clad in 45,133 unique aluminum panels, designed by Zaha Hadid and completed in 2014. Indoor spaces (open Tue–Sun 10am–7pm) host rotating design exhibitions, fashion shows, and Seoul's best design shop; the outdoor plaza and surrounding 24-hour Dongdaemun fashion market are open around the clock. The building glows most dramatically after dark against the night sky. Next door, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park preserves Joseon-era city wall fortifications unearthed during construction.

Seasonal note: Year-round; DDP outdoor light installations are more compelling in the cooler months (Oct–Mar). Indoor exhibitions run Tuesday–Sunday (closed Monday).
