About This Activity

The Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea is one of the most geopolitically charged places on Earth — a 4km-wide buffer that has divided the peninsula since 1953. Standard day tours from Seoul (about $47–$55) include the Third Tunnel of Aggression, the Dora Observatory, Dorasan Station (the southernmost rail terminal), and Imjingak peace park. All visits require a licensed guide; standard DMZ tours run daily except Mondays and major holidays. Note: the Joint Security Area (JSA) at Panmunjom partially reopened in summer 2025 for a visitor center tour only — the iconic blue conference buildings remain closed to tourists as of April 2026.

Seasonal note: Tours run year-round (closed Mondays and national holidays). Spring and autumn are most comfortable for standing at outdoor observation points.
