About This Activity

Built in 1395, Gyeongbokgung is Seoul's largest Joseon-era royal palace — a vast complex of 330 buildings spread across formal courtyards and sculpted gardens backed by Bugaksan Mountain. Admission is ₩3,000 (about $2); rent a hanbok from nearby stalls and enter free. The Changing of the Royal Guard ceremony runs twice daily at 10am and 2pm at Gwanghwamun Gate. The adjacent National Folk Museum of Korea is included with palace entry. Spring (late March–April) for cherry blossoms and October for autumn foliage are peak seasons.

Seasonal note: Open year-round; spring cherry blossoms (late March–April) and autumn foliage (October) are peak. Palace closed Tuesdays.
