About This Activity

Established in 1905, Gwangjang is Seoul's oldest covered market and its best single destination for Korean street food. The central food alley is famous for bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), mayak gimbap (addictively small seaweed rice rolls), tteokbokki, and raw beef yukhoe. Arrive between 10am and 1pm when stalls are fully open and vendors are most active; most fabric and hanbok vendors close on Sundays, while food stalls run daily. Budget around ₩14,000 per person for a satisfying market meal.

Seasonal note: Open year-round; spring and autumn most comfortable for an outdoor-adjacent market. Most stalls quietest on Mondays and Sundays.
